Reginald L. Sawyer who was just 19- year-old, when he served as a PFC Combat Infantry Rifleman in the: 1 st Rifle Squad, 1st Rifle Platoon, Company C, 60th Armored Infantry Battalion, Combat Command A, 9th Armored Division, 1 st & 3 rd U.S. Armies, during the ARDENNES, (BATTLE OF THE BULGE"), RHINELAND & CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. PFC. Sawyer was captured by the Germans sometime after the Battle of the Bulge and was in German custody until the end of the war. Mr.Sawer's exploits can be read in his book "Wartime Memoirs of a Combat Rifleman". Mr. Sawyer has also donated over 200 books to the Veterans Memorial Museum Library which chronicle events in Europe in WWII. The Museum Library now has over 13,000 books.
